The stuff of success

The stuff of success is dedicated to crafts, recycling, upcycling and living well, less expensively. This project is what my son calls his "treasure chest" It started out as a beat up wooden box. It has been painted with Krylon Hunter Green Gloss paint to match all the other furniture that I refinished in his room. It sits in all its glory on his refinished antique desk. Type of Craft[]

Painting

Difficulty Level[]

Easy

Supplies Needed[]

Sandpaper, primer, and paint were used for this project.

Directions[]

I started by removing the hinges and other hardware from the piece. Then I used sandpaper to rough up the outside for the paint to have a surface to better adhere to. I then primed the piece with Krylon spray primer (gray). Once that dried, I sprayed with Krylon Hunter Green Gloss paint. The wood on this particular project kept absorbing the paint quickly so it took about five coats to get it to look decent. After 24 hours drying time I replaced all the hardware. I had intended to add some additional features but this was as far as my son would let me get - he felt he had been patient enough.
